Oddera presents an odd opera consisting of the fragments of multidiscipline "surplus" and "left over". How can sound, movement, film and costume make us whole? Every day we will take particles of identity to create this new version of "live" improvised Oddera. Finnieston House Cafe will host the installation of an uneasy staged version of home. The cafe will be transformed into a stage set for the Open House Festival. Films will play during opening times of the cafe and twice a day the opera will perform for 15 minutes at 1pm and 5pm.Performers will react to the films playing in the cafe. Sound will be live and improvised each day to allow a unique performance. A contemporary opera singer will improvise between the audience and the sound inviting audience to make sound with the instruments. Attendees will be offered costume pieces to wear as they arrive. All Oddera performers will be in full costume. This performance will have a rehearsed framework but elements will change depending on audience participation.
