Presented as a combination of celebrity, technological innovation and founding myth, How the West Was Won (1962) is one of only a handful of feature films made using the three-strip Cinerama process, whereby it was filmed simultaneously from three angles and projected into a curved screen to achieve an immersive cinema experience.
For Open House 2017, the film is adapted to a domestic setting- scaled down to fit in a typical bay-window of a Glasgow tenement.
Running at over two hours, the film will be screened twice (Saturday and Sunday 4-7pm). Limited spaces available, refreshments will be provided. Rated BBFC PG.
Saturday 29th April - 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Sunday 30th April - 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
