The Close/The Corridor

Venue 18

63 West Princes Street, G4 9BS

The 'Close' at 63 West Princes St is a space with no stairwell, but a corridor that is shared with one other flat. It is a unique space, a non-space: a passage or vestibule that currently holds no purpose but to connect the flats. It holds an unsettling quality and has no working lights. We want to bring light and open this space to the public to show a collaborative project of sculpture and photography, examining the various associations of 'The Corridor'. A take on corridor style strip lights continuing down the length of the hallway as well as an archival platform holding documents, photographs and objects. The public will be invited to come examine the various contexts of 'The Corridor' from bureaucratic office spaces, to the long elongated hallways in unsettling imagery.
