Maya Kincaid

"What would it be like to live?" is an installation based work that utiliises the open spaces in Maya Kincaid's flat. The work incorporates her collaborative practice with children aged 6-9 and explores ideas of living in uninhabitable spaces, these include a swimming pool and the clouds. Maya has created an immersive environment that feels like you are entering these 'otherworldly' spaces and combined these with the creative conversations the children and she have been having surrounding these fictional homes. The piece incorporates ceramics, audio, film, drawing, textiles and text to transfer viewers to new dimensions and allow them to explore the depths of their collective imaginations. Elvin, Orlaith, Rachel, Maya, Zuri, Nia and Maya (Maya Kincaid) all hope that you enjoy your journey through the narratives they have created.
